EMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing

EMDR is a therapy that effectively treats trauma and other psychological problems or mental disorders.  Based on empirical evidence, EMDR has proven to be an effective and rapid method of reprocessing trauma.

EMDR uses the brain's natural information processing system to process disturbing experiences. EMDR "unblocks" the brain from past negative experiences and allows the brain to naturally heal by using the mind and body simultaneously.

Sirsey uses EMDR with some clients as appropriate. Clients who are interested in using EMDR to quickly resolve negative experiences are assessed to determine how much preparation they may need before trauma processing can begin.

EMDR can be used to treat adults, teens and children. If you are interested in learning more about EMDR, you can go to emdr.com or emdria.org. You can also contact Sirsey Martinez at (209) 814-5251.
